Aluminum molybdenum carbide(Mo3AlC2)
Mo3AlC2 is a member of the vdW MAX layered material system. Similar to graphite and MoS2,
the MAX phase is stratified, and the general formula is Mn+1AXn, (MAX), where n = 1 ~ 3, M is
the early transition metal, A is the nonmetallic element, and X is carbon and/or nitrogen. In this
particular case, M=Mo, A=Al, X=C, n=2.
Mo3AlC2 MAX phase is the layered MAX phase. Due to the nature of metallic bonding, the
largest phase is conductive and thermally conductive. They are excellent research quality
materials such as 2d metals, battery applications, metamaterials, thermophysics, or as precursors
for MXene production. Our production of molybdenum and aluminum carbide reached 3:1:2 Mo:Al:C
guarantee ratio, and showed extraordinary environmental stability.
